Evie was diganosed with Generalized Epilepsy three years ago after a seizure episode that resulted in her being airlifted to Children's Hospital in St. Paul, MN. A year after her initial diagnosis, she was also diagnosed with ESES (Electrical Status Epilepticus during Sleep) which is a rare form of Epilepsy that affects only 1 out of 200 (0.5%) of children with Epilepsy. We are currently treating this diagnosis with medications and a Modified Atkins Diet as well as closely monitoring her development and progress in school. Evie is our "why"'. We want to advocate for her and help to educate and encourage others to become seizure smart. Our goal is to raise $1,000 by October 3rd, the day of the (virtual) walk.
