Evie was diganosed with Generalized Epilepsy three years ago after a seizure episode that resulted in her being airlifted to Children's Hospital in St. Paul, MN. A year after her initial diagnosis, she was also diagnosed with ESES (Electrical Status Epilepticus during Sleep) which is a rare form of Epilepsy that affects only 1 out of 200 (0.5%) of children with epilepsy. We are currently treating this diagnosis with medications and a Modified Atkins Diet as well as closely monitoring her development and progress in school. We want to help educate others on Evie's diagnosis and help in any way that we can to fund continued research and treatments for all types of Epilepsy.
