As some of you know, I have Borderline Personality Disorder, or BPD. This particular illness can only be diagnosed in adults because the minds of adolescents and children are very impressionable and they are always being directed and guided by adults and peers around them. I was diagnosed at the age of 20 and cried tears of joy when i hear those words because i finally had an answer after searching for so long. I struggled with depression, anxiety and emotional control for a long time and knew something was wrong with me. No therapist or psychiatrist could figure it out so they misdiagnosed me and gave me medication i didn't need. Everyone around me was invalidating me and i felt so alone. A therapist i saw in college guided me in the right direction and helped me fight for answers. After i was done with school i went to St. V's Psychiatric Outpatient and had a few sessions with a psychiatrist who looked everything over and properly screened me. 

I am now almost 22 years old and am on the right path with treatment with a support system.

I am walking for myself. I am walking for those who suffer alone and in silence like i did. I am walking to spread awareness and show others that there is a light at the end and you are not alone.
