It's been just over a year since I lost my friend Laura Hall-Schordje and even less than that since Cindy Jacobs Latham left us. Both were incredible human beings. I think about them often. I will walk this year not only to keep their memory alive but also that of my Grandmother Nickla, my Grandma Virgil, my favorite Gemini Aunt Caryn, my Aunt Marie, my Aunt Leona, my Father Dennis, my step-brother Steve, and my step-father Steve, and one of the nicest men I've ever met named Bob, who was a dear family friend. My mother is also a cancer survivor and is a tremendous inspiration for me every single day throughout my cancer journey. One never wants to be part of the cancer "club" but I've met some of the finest human beings through my journey, kicking cancer's ass along the way.
