There are a lot of worthy programs out in the world that collect funds and forward those to researchers who are looking for a cure. With the slow pace of scientific research, people who find themselves in my situation (stage IV head & neck cancer) may never live long enough to see the benefits of that quest. Wellness House steps in to provide help today for people like me. They have helped me to care for the person behind the disease today. Community based cancer care programs are the most important part of whole person treatment after treatment for the disease itself. I didn't have to wait 30 years for a breakthough. They were right there waiting for me and willing to help me figure out how to keep living instead of waiting to die. 40 years ago my elderly neighbor had head & neck cancer and after they cut out his tumor and loaded him up with chemo and radiation they sent him home to wait to die. There was no Wellness House for him and his wife. Wellness House has shown me that every day can be a little bit better than the day before. They are helping me to live a better life today, in spite of everything that I have lost to cancer.

Wellness House provides complete cancer care - every step of the way. Whether you have cancer, or you are caring for a friend or family member who is diagnosed with cancer, all are welcome at Wellness House. More than 520 programs are provided each month, both online and in person, to improve physical and emotional well-being and give people with cancer a support network like no other. 

Because of the Walk, and the generous donations of individuals and businesses, everything at Wellness House is provided free of charge, providing one less thing to worry about when struggling with a cancer.
