My swimmer bio

I have volunteered at this event for the past two years and am ready to participate! It's a wonderful cause and a well-run event. 

In 2000, I lost my mother to cancer. She was 61. While she was dying over a period of six months, we used the services of hospice, which made things a little bit easier to handle. I am grateful to all of the workers and nurses and that such a wonderful organization exists.

It's a pretty big challenge for me to do the lake swim so I am training now (May 2024). I am a decent swimmer. I started swimming as a kid and I love the water but I haven't done a continuous swim like this before. 

I know that if I have the backing and support of people like you, it will keep me motivated and accountable. I would be proud to have your donation as I pursue this event this summer.
