Going The Distance In Life

This has been a tough year.  Despite multiple medications, the cancer is spreading.  At this point, I have two goals:  

  1. Quality of life 
  2. Swimming Otisco Lake - which is part of goal #1

Yesterday, I jumped in Cayuga Lake and swam 1/8 of a mile. The sun was warm. The water was cool and delicious. What a beautiful moment!

Hospicare provides palliative care to individuals like me, who have a terminal illness. They help us to live our best lives, moment to moment.   Hospicare also provides care during the last six months of life.

I don’t know if I am on the final decent of the stage four cancer roller coaster, or just on one of the many dips. I do know that I rest easier knowing Hospicare is there to help me and support my family and friends.

On July 27th, I plan to swim across Otisco Lake with friends and family.  We are going the distance together.
