Early in the morning on August 10, 2024, I will be participating in a community swim for Hospicare across Cayuga Lake, a distance of 1.2 miles, with approximately 300 women. We will be supported by more than 125 boaters guiding us from the east shore to the Ithaca Yacht Club.
I'm swimming to raise money for Hospicare & Palliative Care Services. The funds we raise will provide medical expertise and emotional, spiritual, and practical support to patients and their families. Your donation to Women Swimmin' for Hospicare will help make this important end-of-life care available to anyone in Tompkins or Cortland counties who needs it--regardless of their ability to pay. Every year, Hospicare provides care to 400-600 patients and over 1,000 relatives and loved ones of patients.
Hospicare is our service region's only provider of hospice palliative care, or "comfort care," for people facing a life-limiting illness. Hospicare helps patients live more fully and comfortably in the time that they have left.
Our family has experienced the compassionate care of Hospicare services during a very difficult time in our life. I hope you will join me in supporting the work they do.
