Since training for the swim last summer, I've lost my beloved step-dad, who brought music and joy to our family - and to so many worldwide. Home Healthcare and Hospice in Keene, New Hampshire provided a graceful and dignified way for him to be at home. He was surrounded by his piano, and family near & far who could speak and sing to him in the hours before and during his passing from this physical world.
There are so many who have been provided this same graceful, dignified transition: my dad, my dearest childhood friend, parents and spouses of beloved friends. May we all have access to this kind of loving, professional expertise when our time comes.
This is why I swim.
I'm not an active FaceBook user, but I feel strongly about this event, so I cave once/year! Thanks for sharing, and for supporting Hospice work everywhere - whether you choose to donate to my page or not. This truly is sacred work!
