Women Swimmin' for Hospicare

I love to swim! My mom forced me to take swimming lessons as a young child. I hated them. We went to our lessons despite the weather. I was afraid of the fast and rowdy kids in the class and I was often cold and miserable. I continued none the less and ended up becoming a swim instructor and a lifeguard.As a teenager, my friends and I lived at the pool. ALSO, as a young teenager, I became a SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMER, competing in A.A.U. competitions and swimming in elaborate swim shows at my junior high and high school. Fast forward 50 + years and I still love being in the water. I am now so happy to turn my love of the swimming into a such an great cause. Our local Hospice, raises money each year by sponsering dozens of women as we swim across Cayug Lake in Ithaca, NY. The 1.2 mile swim is an annual event in our town. We will be accompanied by kayakers and canoers, and welcomed on the other shore with a hearty breakfast, music and wellwishers. I hope that you can support the cause by sponsoring me and my swim.
