My Writing Goals

I will finish and submit that pesky short story from the novel by the end of August. I will. I will. I promise. Let me know if you want to read and give feedback.

DONE Goal 2: edit first 8 chapters of novel by the end of August

DONE This Wednesday, 6/16, I will submit my short story to my writing group for feedback. Editing, editing, editing!

DONE Next up is editing Chapters 6-8 based on feeedback from WG. This will probably include editing Prolog-Chapter 5, too. Everyone liked Slime, so that makes me happy :) Deadline sometime before 7/7, the earlier the better, because after that:

Next is editing Chapters 9-10 based on all that's changed in the first 8 chapters and all the feedback (and adding Slime into the mix!) Deadline (I typed "deadling" for this, ha ha! Indeed, deadling!) 7/14 submission to writing group - update: submission deadline moved by 2 weeks. 

What I Write

I am working on a speculative fiction project. First draft of first book is done, currently editing and expanding for second draft with feedback from my writing group. Also working on a short story based on the novel (but different from the novel).

The novel is set in a future where humanity is on the brink of extinction, when aliens with unknown motives come to the rescue. They provide unlimited food, shelter, water, but they also tag all humans and detain them to contain a deadly infection. At least, that's the official story... When one of the few human-alien hybrids in charge of infection control is murdered, his lover, Stella, sets out to investigate.
