My Write-a-thon Information!

I am a FAN. Clarion West Writer's Workshop made the decision to have no programming for the public this year. But there are writerly Zoom meetings you have access to if you sign up for the Write-a-thon. I’m signed up. I promise to report from my special access and I will be extra encouraged to do so if you donate to my page. Or donate to any the real writers who do this annually. Help Clarion reach their fund raising goal. The first Tuesday when the first of the summer readings would have been has passed and I can't tell you how much I'm already missing them. I’m trusting in the folks who are involved with organizing the Write-a-thon that this alternative will make up for it. Through their past summer reading programs Clarion West has given me years and years of access to the latest work of both old pros and up and coming stars in the various branches of speculative fiction. It’s only fair that now they ask me to help fund raise for the workshop that brings the professional writers and editors that gives this next generation of writers the boost they need.

From a review of SIFF.NET class What the Femme: Costuming the Final Frontier

They started out with talking about Bill Theiss, who designed all the costumes for all the seasons of the first Stak Trek. He has a certain amount of infamy for coming up with the "Theiss Titilattion Theory" which goes "The sexiness of an outfit is directly proportional to the perceived possibility that a vital piece of it might fall off." The speaker of this part of the program expressed doubt how much of the way outfits ended up looking was Theiss and how much was Roddenberry. Roddenberry always wanted the outfits to be sexier. Theiss would design something and bring it to Roddenberry to be "improved." The speaker said "I hope you can hear the air quotes,"
