Greg and I have been participating in the Walk to End Hunger for many years. Having been on the verge of being hunger in 2006, when we were laid off at the same time and our savings dwindled quickly, we have some of understanding of the fear and bruised egos we had. Luckily, we eventually found employment and have not had to feel that fear again.
There are hard working people who do not make enough money to pay for rent AND food. Many people struggle to put food on the table and their children are the innocents effected by this conundrum.
