I've now been working part-time for Eastside Meals on Wheels for about a year, after volunteering for about a year. I continue to be surprised by how this small thing we do makes such a big difference for people. Support from Measl on Wheels is essential for many older folks to be able to stay in their own homes. Without it, they would have to move to assisted living. That will still happen for many of them, but we allow them to live on their own longer and with more dignity.
That's why I'm participating in the Walk to End Hunger. Our partner, Metro Meals on Wheels is matching all donations we receive up to $5000. We are behind on our fundraising goals because of COVID-19, so this is a great opportunity to make up lost ground.
