Hunger Solutions Minnesota

Hunger Solutions Minnesota works to end hunger in our state. We take action to assure food security for all Minnesotans by supporting programs and agencies that provide food to those in need, advancing sound public policy, and guiding grassroots advocacy.

Loaves and Fishes

Loaves and Fishes serves free, healthy meals to Minnesotans in areas where the need is greatest. We offer a variety of meal programs at more than 90 outlets including: public dining, street outreach, student meals and snacks, free produce markets, and a new HUB program for small organizations. We grow fresh produce at our own local farm and gardens and rescue leftover, nutritious food from schools, organizations and businesses. We are always guided by our vision that all people, regardless of socioeconomic, cultural, religious or ethnic background, deserve to meet their basic needs for food, dignity and respect. We served a record-breaking one million meals in 2018 and expect to serve 1.3 million healthy meals to food insecure Minnesotans in 2019.

Minnesota Food Share

Minnesota FoodShare engages thousands of Minnesotans annually via the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign, food insecurity education and awareness efforts, and state and federal advocacy efforts supporting programs that address poverty and food insecurity.

The Food Group works on both ends of the food system from production to distribution. Working towards building a better local food system for all, we focus on breaking down barriers to growing good food locally and breaking down barriers to getting good food to those who need it most.
