This year, I am continuing a new tradition of participating in the Walk to End Hunger for Keystone Community Services. Keystone's Meals on Wheels program serves over 600 meals each week to seniors, people with disabilities, and anyone negatively affected by COVID-19. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen our numbers increase dramatically; we've had a 50% increase, and we continue to sign up new clients as more and more people experience food insecurity heading into the winter months. 

Keystone's Meals on Wheels program has adapted our practices according to public health guidelines regarding the spread of COVID-19. Whereas previously we delivered hot meals Monday through Friday, we are now delivering frozen meal packs once a week to limit both our clients' and our volunteer's exposure, and we are also following strict guidelines for mask wearing, social distancing, and hand washing.

Additionally, we have partnered with the county to provide emergency meals to anyone over age 18 who is experiencing financial hardship or difficulty obtaining meals during the pandemic. Last month, we served nearly 700 meals to clients in need through the county emergency program alone.
