Team Holden our Hearts

This team is in honor of our very own Superhero - Holden. He has had our hearts since the moment we saw his sweet face and through his journey over the last 6 years he has stolen many more. We are walking to support Holden and the hundreds of kids across Virginia who are fighting or recovering from cancer, along with their families. 

Here is a little of our story: Holden was diagnosed with Acute Myleoid Leukemia in March 2019. He underwent 5 rounds of chemo and was in remission, off treatment, and monitored for almost 5 years. In May 2024 - on his 6th birthday - Holden relapsed. In the 10 months that have followed he has gotten a central line, had a port, received several rounds of chemo, and undergone a stem cell transplant from his mother. He has been on and off immunosuppresents, steroids, inhalers, antifungals, and many other medications. He had a feeding tube surgically placed after several failed attempts at placing a ngtube in his nose. He will be completing first grade completely at home and has had to pretty much stay inside our home since last may.

We have had support from ASK in various ways over the last 6 years and will continue to receive it for the forseeable future - Once an ASK family, always and ASK family. Thanks for checking out our team!
