Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page for this year's Dempsey Challenge!

The Dempsey Challenge is the premiere fundraising event for the Dempsey Center, a nonprofit founded by actor Patrick Dempsey. The Dempsey Center makes life better for people impacted by cancer by easing the side effects of cancer by improving their physical, emotional, social, familial, and functional well-being at any point in their cancer journey--all at no cost.

Since mid-March, our family has been on an unexpected and difficult journey. In early April, we learned that Richard has stage 4 colon cancer, which had spread to his liver, spine, and pelvis. We were shocked and devastated, but through the heartache, we’ve also found light, positivity and incredible strength in the love and support of family, friends, colleagues, and the amazing medical team caring for Richard.

The Dempsey Center is another source of hope. They provide counseling, movement and fitness, bodywork, nutrition support, and support groups—completely free to anyone impacted by cancer. While we haven’t yet used all of their services ourselves, we know many people who have benefited from the compassionate support they provide.

Cancer is not a journey anyone should have to walk alone. Please consider supporting this incredible organization. Every dollar helps bring comfort, connection, and hope to Maine families facing cancer.
