It takes lots of volunteers to run the Festival and we welcome interested community members. Most jobs are on Sunday, August 9th, but we have a few needs on Saturday the 8th as well.

Paddle With Us!

Step One: Register a Team

The first question you need to ask is, "What kind of team am I?"

We have three types of teams: Community Teams and two Special divisions for Breast Cancer and Sport Teams. See the descriptions below and on the Special Divisions page.

For those of you registering a Community Team, there is a second question, "How will your team members pay and fundraise?" The answer to this question will help you pick the right "Create a Community Team" ticket on the registration page:

  1. Individuals will pay the registration fee and fundraising commitment themselves.
  2. An organization will pay the registration fee for the whole team ($1020) and individuals will make their own fundraising commitment.
  3. An organization will pay the registration fee AND the fundraising commitment for the whole team ($2295 per team).

Community Division

Whether you're a returning team to our Festival or this is your first time, if your team members paddle only in the Festival each year, you're a Community Team.

Teams are made up of 16 paddlers and one drummer. We provide the steersperson. Registration fee is $60 per participant or $1020 for the whole team.

Each participant is expected to raise $75 for our charities (that's $1275 per team).

You'll get a 90 minute practice the weekend of July 25-26 and a free t-shirt.

Special Divisions

Does your team (or at least good portion of it) practice together regularly? Then you belong in one of our Special Divisions: Breast Cancer Teams or Sport Teams.

Team registration fee is $1300. Deadline to register is July 18, 2026.

Solo Paddlers

Step Two: Join Your Team

Click the registration button at the right to join a team.

Choose the Join a Team option that's right for you:

  • Individual Adult: Registration fee is $60 and you'll provide credit card details for the fundraising commitment (see more below)
  • Individual Youth: Registration fee is $60 and you will need a parent to sign the Festival Waiver.
  • Then select your team when you see the "Go to Team Name" bar.

Registering for a company / pre-paid team? Your team captain paid the registration fee for your whole team and they will have given you a promo code that covers the $60 fee when you register. The code gets entered on the second page after you've provided your name and other details. You will still be asked to provide credit card details to "guarantee" your fundraising commitment. Step Three: Start Fundraising

When you register, you accept a commitment to raise $75 for our charities. Thank you! Here's a little more information.

The commitment works like a guarantee on a hotel reservation. You provide your credit card details up front and then if you don't show, they can bill your card. The same thing is true with the Festival, with a twist:

We look at the fundraising for the whole team first. As long as your team has raised $1275 as a group, then no one gets charged individually. Team fundraising can be a whole lot of fun and that's how a lot of our teams get there. 

But indiidual fundraising isn't very hard either. Send an email to three aunties asking them to donate $25 to support your participation in the Festival and it's charities and you're done! We even provide a template for the emails on your personal fundraising page. Share that page with friends and family and the $75 practically raises itself!

Since you've read this far, we'll tell you that we haven't charged any individual for their fundraising commitment in all the years we've been doing this because the teams have always come through! Make sure to check in with your team and share your ideas about team fundraising!
