My name is Gretchen Ortner and this is my third year as a Biking for Babies missionary! I am from Kaukauna, WI and I am so happy to return to Biking for Babies. My first year with Biking for Babies, I was on the WI route and my second year, I was on the OH West route. Both years I had amazing and profound experiences.
One thing I believe my Biking for Babies experience has helped me do is think about others more and think about myself less. During formation and on the National Ride we call ourselves to sacrifice and surrender, for both our teammates and for the mamas and babies. We practice serving others instead of just ourselves. I try to make an effort to take my attitude of servitude to my daily life and with those I meet.
Should you choose to financially support my fundraising campaign, your gift will go to the mission of Biking for Babies. The money will get used for the formation of young adult missionaries, raising awareness for pregnancy resource centers (PRCs), as well as financial support given directly to the PRCs. The money given to the PRCs will immediately support their work, which is to help moms and babies in crisis: this includes material support, housing, diapers and clothing, parenting classes, and so on.
Join me in Biking for Babies' mission by making a gift towards my fundraising campaign. Your gift supports our mission to renew the culture of life by forming young adult missionaries and raising awareness and funds for pregnancy resource centers that support pregnant women across the country.
