Join us for the 22nd Annual DSNMC Step UP for Down Syndrome Walk!

October 24, 2026

Falls Road Local Park | Potomac, MD

10:30 am - 2:00 pm

The Step UP for Down Syndrome Walk is DSNMC's largest fundraiser and a powerful celebration of community, advocacy, and inclusion. Each year, individuals with Down syndrome, families, friends, educators, therapists, community partners, and supporters come together to raise critical funds that support individuals with Down syndrome and their families across the lifespan.

Whether you create a team, fundraise, sponsor the event, donate, or walk alongside us, you are helping build a more connected, inclusive community where people with Down syndrome have opportunities to learn, lead, connect, and live self-determined lives.

Why We Step UP

We Step UP to celebrate the achievements, strengths, and contributions of people with Down syndrome.

We Step UP to advocate for a community where every person is valued, included, and empowered to live a self-determined life.

We Step Up because the funds raised through this event directly support DSNMC's mission and make our work possible all year long.

As DSNMC's largest fundraiser, the Step UP Walk helps provide:

  • Opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome to build friendships, develop leadership skills, strengthen self-advocacy, and engage fully in their communities

  • Programs, resources, and support that empower families and caregivers to navigate every stage of life with confidence and connection

  • Educational workshops, trainings, and outreach that equip educators, healthcare professionals, employers, and community members to foster greater understanding and inclusion

  • Advocacy efforts that advance self-determination, challenge barriers, and expand opportunities for people with Down syndrome in schools, workplaces, healthcare settings, and the broader community

Every dollar raised strengthens our ability to provide programs, resources, advocacy, and community connections that support individuals with Down syndrome and their families across the lifespan.

This walk is about coming together in celebration. It's about honoring the people we love. It's about creating opportunities, advancing inclusion, and investing in a community where individuals with Down syndrome are recognized for their strengths, contributions, and potential.

Whether you raise $25 or $2,500, every contribution matters. Every participant makes a difference. Every dollar makes an impact. Every step matters.

Help Us Reach Our Goal

Our goal is to raise funds that ensure individuals with Down syndrome and their families continue to have access to programs, advocacy, resources, and community throughout the year. By registering, fundraising, donating, or sponsoring the Walk, you become part of a movement that is creating a more inclusive community and expanding opportunities for people with Down syndrome.

Join us as we Step UP to celebrate, connect, advocate, and make a difference.

Together, we Step UP for connection, opportunity, self-determination, and a community where everyone belongs.
