Race Schedule:

The 5K and Fun Run races will start at Nemours Estate near the front entrance gate.

8 - 8:45 a.m.: Race day registration

*If you are registering on site, please visit the Registration tent located at the entrance of the Runner’s Village. Participants will also need to pick up their race packets at the Registration tent if they have not already done so.

9 a.m.: Fun Run start 

9:30 a.m.: 5K start

10:20 a.m.: Announcements and awards ceremony 

11 a.m.: Event concludes. Thank you for your support!

Packet Pick Up:

Team captains or individual runners may pick up their race packets containing race bibs, safety pins, and t-shirts at the following location:

Friday, October 16th at the Shands House

1600 Rockland Road Wilmington, DE 19803 from 3:00 pm – 6:30 pm.

PARKING: Parking is available in Lot 5A for Packet Pickup on Friday. If entering through the main gate of the hospital on Rockland Road, Lot 5A is located on your first right across the street from the playground. There will be signs on the hospital campus directing where to park. Look for the pink house (Shands House) and proceed to the back of the house to the tented patio.
Team captains who are picking up packets for their team members, please let your team members know that you will be picking up their packets. Only one bib will issued to a participant.
NOTE: Packets will also be available to pick up at registration on race day starting at 8:00 am, however we HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to pick up your race packets beforehand at Packet Pick Up to avoid long waiting times.

Parking and Event Entrance:

On race day, participant parking will be available in the Associates Garage located off Rockland Road. The east entrance into the hospital across from Ronald McDonald House is closest to the Associates Garage. If entering the hospital through the main gate, follow the parking signs directing you to the Associate Garage. From the Associates Garage, participants will take a shuttle bus to the main event area where the Runner’s Village, Start/Finish line and Registration are located, at lot 5A. ADA parking is also available in Lot 5A. Signs will be placed throughout the campus directing participants to park at these locations. Click here to see an event parking map.

5K and Fun Run Courses:

The 5K and Fun Run will kick off on the breathtaking grounds of Nemours Estate. The routes will take runners, walkers and rollers through some of the stunning Versailles-inspired formal gardens, including whimsical fountains, towers, and monuments. All ages are welcome whether you run, walk or roll! Please note: All participants must wear their bibs before entering the estate. There will be signs and volunteers throughout the course directing 5K and Fun Run participants where to go. All 5K and Fun Run finishers will receive a custom medal upon crossing the finish line! 5K Finish and Awards:

After runners cross the finish line, enjoy activities and sponsor booths in Runner’s Village! The awards ceremony for the 5K will take place on the stage at 10:20 a.m.

Runner's Village and Pictures:

Even if you are not a runner, bring the entire family out for an exciting morning full of activities in our Runner’s Village! Activities are open throughout the morning between 8:00am-11:00am.

Enjoy a variety of sponsor and vendor booths, including Brew HaHa, Rita’s, Benchmark Financial, Concord Pet and Care Options for Kids. Be sure to stop by the Nemours Children’s Health tent for hospital information and fun giveaways like sunglasses, and snacks. There will be exciting activities for children including face painting, airbrush tattoos, games, mascots. The Nemours Animal Assisted Therapy team will be on site with our therapy dogs. And don’t forget to get your team picture taken at the selfie station next to the stage before the race starts!

Nemours Estate:

Come back and visit the beautiful Nemours Estate after the race! All participants of the Nemours Children’s Health Run & Walk will receive one free day pass to Nemours Estate. Be sure to get your pass at Packet Pick Up or at the Registration Tent on race day. Discover all that Nemours Estate has to offer, from the Mansion to the Gardens and the Chauffeur’s Garage. Nemours Estate Open Hours: Tuesday - Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Last entry is 4 p.m. The Mansion, Chauffeur's Garage, and Gift Shop close at 4:30 p.m.

Funds raised will benefit the Nemours Children’s Compassionate Care Fund, which restores the health of critically ill and injured children wherever the need is greatest. Please note: Teams that raise $5,000 or more can designate their funds to support a department of their choice.
