My Personal Fundraising Page

Thank you for visiting my Fundraising Page for the APDA Optimism Walk. I need to do my part to raise a little $ for this org. (Note this event takes place every year so pace yourselves :)

Here's some info -- 

  • Every six minutes someone is diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (PD).
  • American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) is not the only org that supports PD. However they have some helpful efforts for people with young-onset PD -- diagnosed before age 50 -- like Kent. This includes a conference bringing people with young-onset PD together; the 2nd ever conference is this October 2025 in Seattle. Also support groups (aka SEAYOPD) and organizing activities which Kent and I have enjoyed participating in and benefitted from (axe throwing with Parkinson's people? yes!)
  • APDA also provides local education, information, advocacy and support, as well as nationwide virtual programs.
  • Donations also help fund scientific research into the causes, prevention,  and treatments.
