My Connection to the Special Needs Population and NSSRA
Many of you that know me, know I began my journey in working with people who have disabilities in college coaching a variety of Special Olympic sports and fell in love with it. I later obtained a fulltime job with a different Special Recreation Association overseeing the aquatic programs and coordinating Special Olympics for this Association. When I left there to work for the Glenview Park District, I was thrilled that part of my job was working closely with NSSRA staff on securing program spaces for their programs within our District each season. When NSSRA created the Associate Board I jumped on this immediately.
Working with and advocating for people with disabilities is one of my biggest passions. This new facility that NSSRA acquired is an amazing opportunity for all NSSRA participants. their families, and NSSRA itself. Please help me in reaching and exceeding my goal of $2,000 for this incredible "Place to Belong" for NSSRA.
