ROSE GOLDBERG
Hi. This is Rose Goldberg. I am working as a Youth Apprentice this summer at Bikes Not Bombs in Jamaica Plain. I am writing to you to ask you to support my bike ride for Bikes Not Bombs (BNB) on September 12, 2021. It is a fundraising ride to raise money for BNB, a 37 year-old nonprofit that uses bicycles as a vehicle for social change to empower Black and other marginalized people in Boston as well as in Africa and Central America.
I started engaging with Bikes Not Bombs (BNB) during their first Ride for Black Lives last year. As a Youth Apprentice, I teach students about bike mechanics and bike safety. Aside from the practical skills I have gained at BNB, helping me fix my own bike and the bikes of others, working at BNB has taught me much more about social justice and community outreach, which is so important to me as a young trans woman.
BNB’s mission is to use the bicycle as a means for social, political, economic, and environmental change, with a strong commitment to racial equity. This is reflected in the Bike Match program, in which we refurbish bikes and give them to others that need them, free of charge.
I hope you will support my bike ride and further Bikes Not Bombs’ mission. Just follow this link to make a donation: https://secure.qgiv.com/event/bikeathon2021/donate
Thank you.
Rose
