Hi. This is Garland Wintzer. This summer, for the 2nd year, I have a job as a Youth Apprentice at Bikes Not Bombs in Jamaica Plain. I am writing to you to ask you to support my bike ride for Bikes Not Bombs (BNB) on September 12, 2021. It is a fundraising ride to raise money for BNB, a 37 year-old nonprofit that uses bicycles as a vehicle for social change to empower Black and other marginalized people in Boston as well as in Africa and Central America.
I work at BNB fixing up bikes and working as part of BOCA (Bicyclists Organizing for Community Action). We advocate for change in transportation and do bike advocacy. BNB is trying to solve inequality within the cycling world, while also helping youth in our communities gain access to bikes and solve transportation problems.
Please contribute to Bikes Not Bombs, because we have changed the lives of people, while also promoting social justice and helping social change in the community.
