Support the Student Emergency Relief Fund

Associated Students Incorporated’s Student Emergency Fund provides compassionate assistance to students who encounter unforeseen financial emergencies or catastrophic events that disrupt their progress toward a degree. Students who find themselves battling homelessness, an accident, a natural disaster, severe illness, or other unforeseen circumstances are able to apply for one-time funding.

Sixty percent of students at Cal State San Marcos receive financial assistance and over 35 percent of active financial aid applicants have income levels well below the federal poverty line.

The Student Emergency Fund is available to all currently enrolled CSUSM students. Last year ASI allocated $12,000 to provide emergency assistance to 48 students. This academic year ASI allocated $15,750 to serve 63 students. By mid-November we ran out of the allocated funds.

Each year, new needs emerge, and new students find themselves in financial crisis.

Your support helps them persist beyond these circumstances. By showing us your heart this Giving Day, you will make an immediate and lasting impact on students who find themselves in crisis and allow us to continue to offer Student Emergency Funds to students.
