With a joyful heart, we are excited to share that our Cougar community made a profound impact on our students, initiatives and programs, raising $317,174 in just 24 hours!
Together, our alumni, friends, faculty, staff and students set a new record with 2,231 gifts, a 54% increase over the previous mark set last year. The historic day featured $131,000 in dollar-for-dollar matches and competitive challenges, including Foundation Board Director Jack Raymond’s surprise $20,000 in Golden Challenges.
Some of the highlights from the day include:
CSUSM hit a milestone with $1 million in Giving Day gifts over the past five years..
The day started strong with 85 gifts made in the first hour, from midnight to 1 a.m.
The Educational Opportunity Program topped the leaderboard with $3,500 in challenge awards.
Student gifts increased 67% over last year.
Alumni gifts nearly doubled from a year ago.
