When thinking about the most vulnerable high school students in our community, we at Project Rebound see it as our obligation to provide support. The "Each One Teach One" mentor program will couple CSUSM Project Rebound students who are formerly incarcerated and system impacted with local at-risk students from juvenile court and continuation high schools.
The goal of the program is to use the university as a vision for their future, turning at-risk students into students with promise. Our students will mentor, guide and inspire these young students to achieve success and create hope and promise in the absence of it. Project Rebound is a new program at CSUSM that supports formerly incarcerated and system-impacted students providing added resources for success. The "Each One Teach One" mentor program will create a foundation for professional experience and development, career preparation and long-lasting relationships for all students involved.
We hold our department, its work and our students to high standards, and we know that this endeavor will be highly successful.
