The Alliance to Accelerate Excellence in Education (The Alliance) at CSUSM is a regionally focused initiative intended to create a comprehensive pathway to college access and success. Guided by principles of partnership, collaboration and academic excellence, The Alliance reduces barriers to college success that have traditionally presented challenges for regional students and bolsters the systems to support academic achievement among all learners. With a focus on traditionally underserved youth and/or first-generation college students, The Alliance works with families, teachers, administrators and community members to support all students in achieving academic success.
At the core of The Alliance are guaranteed admission agreements that provide a framework for students and families and teachers, counselors, faculty and service providers to work together to close the achievement gap for the region’s most educationally at-risk students. Students who meet the college readiness criteria are guaranteed admission to the university.
The Alliance has received a challenge from the North County Women in Networking (NCWIN) organization. NCWIN would like to ask our community to join with them in supporting The Alliance and challenge the community to match their $3,000 donation on CSUSM Giving Day. The money raised on Giving Day will go directly to the following programs and activities based on need:
• Ambassador leadership
• Family Alliance Community Exchange (FACE)
• Summer transition programs
• Road show outreach initiative
• Alliance meet-ups
• Faculty learning communities
• Counselor forums
