Through a partnership between the Latino Business Student Association (LBSA), College of Business Administration and the Career Center, the Cougar Career Closet opened in April 2017 to address students’ need for professional attire. The Cougar Career Closet collects donated new or gently used business apparel and provides these items at no cost to students. Their new professional look allows students to participate in job interviews, networking events and presentations with increased confidence.
From its inception in fall 2017 through summer 2019, the Cougar Career Closet has served over 1,000 students. During the first six weeks of operation this fall alone, 76 students utilized this invaluable service. With our current enrollment of over 16,000 students, a high percentage of whom receive financial aid, we anticipate the need for Closet resources to continue growing, which will require additional support. Please support our students’ professional growth and give with the heart of a Cougar. Together we can help all Cougars dress for success!
