Your donation supports students like Daisy, who is the first in her family to attend college. She comes from a low-income family with limited education. Daisy’s parents make a tremendous effort to support her education, but they don’t know the educational system and they struggle to make ends meet. Having to pay rent for Daisy to attend school is financially crippling for them. In spring 2018, Daisy was living in a very restrictive housing environment, which led to food insecurity. The situation overshadowed her college experience, creating an excessive amount of stress and anxiety. She frantically searched for other accommodations but was unable to find affordable housing. Daisy was homeless for two months.
Generous gifts like yours can provide critical assistance for services not currently covered by the program, including emergency scholarships, funds for books and funds for temporary shelter.
