The Pathways to Academic Success & Opportunities (PASO) program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education as a Title V Hispanic Serving Institution grant. PASO serves approximately 500 first-generation, self-identifying Hispanic/Latino, low-income, first-time freshmen. With a 48% Latino population at CSUSM, the need for additional support is crucial. Some of the most common challenges that PASO scholars face are homelessness, food insecurity, financial need for educational supplies, mental health services and commuter expenses, with the majority of our PASO scholars traveling one hour or more each way. Without additional resources, these challenges hinder a student’s educational success.
Your giving can make a difference with our PASO scholars!
