Y'all.
I'm beyond excited to be raising funds and awareness for Cure CMD, their 2026 Giving Campaign, and representing them at this year's New York City Marathon. I'm doing this with Randy Gene, Waylon, Andrew and Chelsea Michael close to my heart. Their entire family is a dream of human beings. Randy Gene and Waylon - both with CMD - are hilarious little boys. The love that Andrew and Chelsea have for their family and the love and warmth they show to their friends... those virtues are difficult to come by. 
We've trauma bonded over delivering micro-preemies (they one-upped us by delivering in Athens, Greece). My heart and life shook when I heard about Andrew Michael being struck by a car while out on a run.

Being a truly kind, loving, hilarious person doesn't guarantee you a "fair" set of cards in life. Just writing that out makes my heart heavy. It honestly makes me sad. It makes me angry. Frustrated. Lots of feels.

So, what can I do? How can I make an impact?
- By raising awareness for CMD. There are no current FDA approved treatments for CMD. Let's put some backing behind this and fund support for research and ultimately a cure! What a dream it would be for young ones and their families if we had a way to defeat CMD.
- By honoring the Michael family. I'm absolutely sure Andrew would've jumped at the chance to represent Cure CMD and run the NYCC Marathon. My race bib - it's for Andrew, for Chelsea, for their sweet kiddos Randy Gene and Waylon.
