The UW Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine is thrilled to participate in this year’s Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research Academic Giving Competition (FAER AGC)! Every year FAER awards over $2.5 million in grants and sponsors more than 100 student fellows and resident scholars! Since 1979, current and former faculty in our department alone have received 35 FAER grants supporting anesthesiology research; 7 of these faculty are still working in our department! FAER grants are critical to junior faculty developing an independent research program. FAER is even more critical today with the uncertainty in Federal grant funding.
As we did last year, we have divided our department into three parts:
- UWMC and HMC faculty - group leaders: Dr. Mackensen, Dr. Hallman, Dr. Sharma
- SCH, VAMC, and Pain Division faculty - group leaders: Dr. Geiduschek, Dr. Sivirajan, Dr. Sunshine
- Research faculty, Trainees, and Staff - group leaders: Dr. Nikravan, Dr. Morgan, Dr. Crowder
Leaders in each of these groups have graciously donated a total of $4000 of matching funds for donors in those groups. So, your donation will be doubled until your group reaches the $4000 threshold. Give generously and encourage others in your group to donate so that your group gives the most money or has the most donors.
We also have prizes! Everyone who donates will be entered to win one of three $100 REI gift cards.
Give to support the future of our specialty!
You can learn more about FAER at FAER.org.
Thank you!
