About Good Grief
Good Grief builds resilience in children, strengthens families, and empowers communities to grow from loss and adversity.
30 Children per day in New Jersey experience the death of a parent or sibling. When a loved one dies, a family's world shatters. The silence that often follows can be just as devastating as the loss itself. For children and teens, this can be a particularly lonely and confusing time. Grief is not an event, but a complex process. Without a safe space to process their feelings, bereaved children often face long-term challenges in their mental, physical, and emotional health, impacting their schoolwork, relationships, and sense of self.
Good Grief was founded on a simple, yet profound belief: that no child should have to grieve alone.
At Good Grief, we provide free, peer-based support and education to children, teens, and young adults who have experienced the death of a parent or sibling. Following a proven model adapted to the communities we serve, we create space for participants to share their stories, find connection, and learn that their feelings are normal. We train teachers, community organizations and individuals on how to be responsive and support children in their grief journeys.
Grieving kids need someone in their corner. Good Grief is there. Will you join us? To learn more visit www.good-grief.org.
