Help Kids with Cancer

David Wagner discovered his son Will had a cancerous brain tumor the size of a golf ball in 2012.

Along with about a year of radiation therapy, he had to have a medical shunt – a tube designed to drain fluid from the area around the tumor – put into his head, which is still there today. And even when he was declared officially cancer free in 2014, doctors told the family he would likely never be cleared to play contact sports.

I've watched Will grow up and face scary moments and hard realities.  Coach Wagner opened the door for me to coach football in 2010 and inspired in me a dream I get to live every day.  More importantly, I got to watch Will realize his dream of playing football for his dad in 2020 when he started for the first time vs. East Hall.

Go4theGoal is a group that gets me personally fired up to partner with again this year for Oberlin College Football. Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease among children, yet less than 4% of Federal funding goes toward pediatric cancer research. I know families like the Wagners needed financial support. The Foundation supports research, donations and direct family aid.
