This summer, my family and I will be traveling to Harlan, Kentucky to serve with the Capuchin Appalachian Mission. For me, Nicholas, this is my 4th year returning but for my brother Michael, my sister Gianna, and my mom Melissa, it will be their first! Harlan is one of the most economically challenged regions in the United States, where nearly 45% of residents live below the poverty line and many families lack basic necessities. Every year I've returned, this mission has deepened my faith and pushed me to grow in ways I never expected, and I am so excited to do God's work alongside my family for the first time this year! As Matthew 25:40 reminds us, "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me" and that is exactly the heart behind this mission!

• Outreach and visits with elderly residents
