Hello!

This is my second year on the Capuchin Appalachin Mission, CAM!  This year I am so excited because J.Z. will be joining me!  

Last year, like this year, I will be involved with helping with manual labor.  To give you an idea of what I did last year, our group aided two families:

The first family was an older couple who had a porch roof that was collecting water in the middle and on the verge of colllapsing. We worked as a team to rebuild it so the older couple could enjoy some time outdoors together, though the rain and the Kentucky heat! It was especally rewarding when we found out how lovely this couple was and they too, were helping others through their own very special ministry. They made tinket baskets for those at the senior center and hospice care and even generously offered us some!

The second home we visited was in a poor and rundown area of Kentucky.  A middle-aged woman lived there with her familiy.  She was not very mobile and her porth and ramp were not safe to walk on.  We tore-down the delipated porch and ramp so she could walk out of the house again and spend some time outdooors.  She also had an older daughter and young grandchild that lived with them.  We were not only able to buy building supplies but also everyday supplies that were much needed thanks to all the donations we recieved last year.
