I’m thrilled to be participating in Jogging for James: To End Preventable Stillbirths, a fundraiser supporting Healthy Birth Day, Inc. the creator of Count the Kicks! in honor of my daughter, Ruby. 

Ruby was born sleeping at 38 weeks after an uneventful, “perfect” pregnancy. This May marks 12 years without her. Not a day goes by that she isn’t part of my life. I carry her with me in everything I do, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to turn my love for her into something that can help others.

Grief doesn’t have a clear path, but what I’ve learned over time is that sharing her story matters.

Some stillbirths are preventable. Simple awareness—like paying attention to changes in a baby’s movements—can save lives. That’s why this cause is so important to me. If Ruby’s life can help raise awareness and protect even one other family from this kind of loss, then her impact continues in a powerful way.

On May 17, 2026, I’ll be walking for her—
for her life,
for her memory,
and for the hope that more babies make it safely home.
