First annual Jog for James: To End Preventable Stillbirths
Date: May 17th, 2026
Location: Community Playfields in Wilmette, IL
Start time: 8:30AM
5k/1mile run/walk option
Both in-person and virtual participation welcome! If you can't attend the 17th in person, feel free to still sign up to be a part of the larger cause and show support for loss families.
Please submit baby names by April 23rd and please register by April 23rd to be guaranteed a t-shirt.
Children's Entertainment: Music, face painting, balloon animals, and walking/running/skipping/scootering with friends around the 1-mile path
Come Jog for James and honor ALL babies gone too soon.
Named for James McCoy Wilson, stillborn at 39 weeks in 2022.
20,000+ babies are stillborn each year in the U.S, including over 800 in Illinois alone.
Many, like James, were healthy pregnancies.
Prevention and education save lives.
This event will raise awareness to evidence based tools proven to help save lives and bring more babies into this world safely.
