As folks know by now, I've decided to postpone my thruhike of the LongTrail, which was set to kick off on Saturday September 19th -- Long Trail Day!
The good news is tht I'm stil participating in Long Trail Day 2026, which is a fundraiser supporting the Green Mountain Club. Any dollars raised - big or small - helps impact GMC's ability to maintain our trails and keep the beauty of Vermont accessible & wild!
On Saturday September 19th my plan is to hike the 6.5 miles from Vermount Route 140 in Wallingford to Vermont Route 103 in Clarendon. I chose this stretch because it's close to my heart --- it cuts through the property of Spring Lake Ranch, which is what brought me to Vermont 11 years ago, and end less than a quarter mile from where we used to live in Clarendon.
Folks are invited to join me for my 6.5 miles, or hit the Long Trail near where you're located! It's going to be a awesome day, and there will be many Long Trail lovers out & about.
Of course I would be grateful for any donations to support the Green Mountain Club. Your support means the world to me!
