This is my 7th walk with Lone Star Bleeding Disorders Foundation, and I'm so proud to be part of this wonderful community.
I come to this work wearing two hats — I'm an employee of Lone Star, but I'm also a supporter, the same as you. And over these seven years, I've seen firsthand how hard it is to raise awareness and funds for a small nonprofit serving a rare disease community. It's easy to understand how people are drawn to causes with a bigger public presence — the ones that are already on everyone's radar. But that's exactly why I'm asking you to take a closer look at ours.
I want to share with my friends and family what Lone Star is all about, and why our community is so special — and so deserving of support. Our programs are crucial: education that empowers families to understand and manage bleeding disorders, advocacy that gives our community a voice, outreach that brings patient access to rural areas that would otherwise go without, and a Helping Hand program that steps in when families need it most.
None of this happens without people like you.
