This cause runs in the family for me. My mom has worked with Lone Star Bleeding Disorders Foundation, and I also have family members living with bleeding disorders, so I've grown up seeing what this community means and how much support it takes to care for one another.

I've wanted to be part of walk day in person for a while now, and this year I finally get to make it happen. There's something about showing up — not just donating from a distance, but actually being there — that feels important to me.

As a future teacher, learning about bleeding disorders matters to me in a very real way. One day, I may have a student in my classroom living with one, and I want to be someone who understands, who's informed, and who knows how to support them.
