Recognizing the vital role that pets play in promoting the overall health and well-being of their owners. We recognize that many pet owners face significant barriers in accessing essential pet care, such as basic veterinary services and pet food, and emergency veterinary care. By prioritizing pet retention initiatives, the SPCA is working to improve the lives of pets in the community, while also reducing the number of animals in our shelter who already have loving homes. To help address these challenges and prevent pet surrender, we have developed several community-centered programs and resources to keep pets in their homes. This ensures that our shelter is available for the pets that need us the most. Those animals that are truly abused, abandoned and homeless and that pet owners can keep their pets.
