On July 17th, 2026 I'll be participating for the 4th year in a row, in the 26th annual Seek the Peak, a hiking fundraiser in support of the legendary non-profit Mount Washington Observatory. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to support my endeavor.

For the last 3 years, with the help and support of a great group of friends, I have completed the highest hike in NH - Mount Washington (elevation 6,288 feet.) This year we are switching it up to the location of the Seek the Peak after party - we are setting our sights on Wildcat Mountain. Although this mountain isn't as high, the 4,422 feet of Wildcat will have it's own unique challenge with an even steeper grade than Washingon. And instead of just hiking up, we plan to hike both ways on this mountain.

Either way, my goal on this and every hike is to take paths my dear friend Diane took when she was still healthy and strong. I’ve never been one who has regret, but for the first time, I regret. I regret not hiking with her when I had the chance. You get busy and think there’s more time, but you never know. The best I can do now is take the paths she took and hope she keeps showing me the beauty of nature through her heart signs along the trail. Please do the thing you have wanted to, but keep putting off. And please get outside or maybe donate in memory of Diane.

Due to the generosity of supporters like you, the nonprofit Mount Washington Observatory has been observing and reporting on Mount Washington’s infamous conditions for 90+ years from their mountaintop weather station, maintaining one of North America's longest continuous climate records. The data they collect is utilized in forecasting models, weather reports, landmark climate research and educational outreach. The free daily forecasts that the Observatory provides are an essential resource for those wishing to enjoy the outdoors in New Hampshire's White Mountains and beyond.
