For the second year, I’m participating in the Sandy Sprint in honor of my mom, Jodie Milkman. The Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation stood by my mom throughout her battle with ovarian cancer, giving her strength, hope and a sense of community when she needed it most. Now, I’m asking you to join me in supporting the organization that never gave up on her and continues to show up for so many others facing this disease. This cause is deeply personal to me. My mom passed away from ovarian cancer, but the way she lived will always define her far more than her diagnosis. She was resilient, fearless and endlessly positive. Even on her hardest days, she found the light. She never lost her sparkle. But more than anything, my mom was selfless. She always, always put others before herself. Throughout her illness, she dedicated her time to raising awareness and funds for ovarian cancer, lifting up others even while she was fighting her own battle. That was who she was, someone who showed up for others no matter what. Now it’s my turn to continue what she started. I’m running not just in her memory, but in her spirit to raise awareness, to stand with women and families affected by ovarian cancer and to give back to the organization that gave my mom so much.
