I've always believed that at the very least, we all deserve to know the truth. We deserve to know what we are supporting and how our actions are affecting others. I am running for #voiceless4animaljustice because of the immense suffering these cows, pigs, chickens and other sentient beings labeled as 'livestock' are subjected to every single day of their lives.
Pigs who are in cages they can’t even turn around in, chickens crawling all over each other and unable to spread their wings. Cows crying for their children that are ripped away from them shortly after birth. Babies longing for their mothers. People deserve to know how these animals suffer. They deserve to know about their quality of life. These animals at the very least, deserve to be seen and heard. They deserve transparency.
The money raised will go toward Animal Justice’s legal fight to defeat ag-gag laws. These laws aim to conceal suffering in the animal agriculture industry by making it illegal for whistleblowers to come forward and expose the realities of these facilities. This year, provinces all across Canada have introduced and passed dangerous ag gag laws that aim to cover up animal cruelty in the meat industry, violate your constitutional right to freedom of expression, and decrease transparency about where your food comes from. These types of laws have been struck down in some states as unconstitutional, and Animal Justice will be challenging them on the same basis
My concerns are the rights of the animals. They cannot speak for themselves so it is up to us to speak for them.
