Why I raise money for Hospicare

"Go the Distance" is the part of Women Swimmin' for people who are not going to swim 1.2 miles across the lake on Swim Day but who want to raise funds for Hospicare. You have to come up with something you're going to do OTHER than swim across the lake. 

I am going to recruit over 200 volunteers for Women Swimmin’ to make it a fun and safe event for the 325 women who swim across the lake. I have been the Volunteer Coordinator for the past three years and find it a privilege to be involved with this fundraiser. 

I raise money for Hospicare in memory of my father-in-law Clark, cousin Cat and my dear friend Henry.  Hospicare assisted them to have a peaceful and respectful end of life.  I wish that every person and family has access to that for their loved ones.
