Participating in the Walk to End Hunger has become a family tradition for us, so much so that we've lost count of how many years we've walked (8, I think). We are thrilled to be raising funds for Meals on Wheels. We deliver meals whenever the kids are off from school so we see the direct impact the service makes in helping people to remain living independently in their homes and communities.
Each year in the Twin Cities, Meals on Wheels, with the help of a network of 14,000 volunteers, delivers over 1.1 million meals to more than 7,000 seniors and people with disabilities. Along with access to nutritious foods, volunteers deliver an important social connection that can ease isolation and provide an important safety check.
We appreciate your help in supporting this vital service. For every $6 raised, we can provide a meal and a friendly visit to someone in need.
